One of the crucial topics of Public Relations is crisis communication. (Fearn- Banks, 2001) denotes that the public relations program are developed either to prevent a crisis or recover from one. In the era of internet and social media more and more studies pay attention about how to deal with crisis with the maximum use of PR activities. Researchers nowadays focus on ‘new’ media and how this can be implemented in public relations practices. There is a new term that is introduced ‘public relations 2.0’ that is used to denote the application of ‘Web 2.0’ media and communications. For instance ‘Benefit’, a beauty brand participated in a fat-shaming hashtag on Twitter. The customers were furious after the brand took part in the #MakeAMovieAFatty hashtag. This involved incorporating offensive terms into film titles. Unfortunately the brand instead of apologizing to the customers they tweeted an explanation casually (refer to Appendix). They also deleted some of the Tweets but, fi nally ended up apologizing. They learnt their lesson however, many users and followers of the brand was so upset that they posted of never using the product again. It is difficult to trust a brand once they offend their customers. Following the incident, the followers further launched a petition, #BoycottBenefit. This crisis proved people are slow in forgiving especially when they believe the company did not handle the crisis effectively. In order to avoid such discrepancies organizations need to enforce thorough crisis management policies including post-crisis discourse (Seeger et al., 2005). Generally there are three phases of a crisis; a pre-crisis phase, an acute phase which follows a dramatic event, and a post-crisis phase when questions on the reason and precaution is addressed (Falkheimer Heide, 2006). Introduction In the United States, each year, there are numerous juvenile delinquents who are given mandatory life prison sentences. This paper will explain how a troubled boy at the age of 15 winds up being convicted, receiving one of the harshest punishments in the United States, and what actions may prevent future occurrence of this event happening to the lives of other delinquent youth. Discussion In a recent news story reported by Hanson (2013), Travion Blount was convicted and sentenced to six life terms. He did not commit homicide, rape, or any sort of sexual assault. After reading this article I can relate to some of what Paramour is saying , with the whole going to college and realizing what you had plan would change I new for me it would be a little harder with going to school working full time and having two small children and everything that they are involved in. I would of never in a million years think I would change what I was studying until I started to work in the medical field and realized that’s it not what I wanted to do the rest of my life so I switched to something I knew I enjoyed doing when I worked for a big retail company and that was getting to know the business and human resource of the company. I also like how the culture was built with the company do think it’s a little crazy to have dogs in an office let alone nine of them I could see where this could go wrong and could cause a bad work environment. I also had to do interviews when worked for target UT there was a guild line that we had to go by and I don’t think it allowed us to get clear picture of the employee seeking work and I think being direct and straight forward would give you and the employee to have a chance to be honesty with one another and me personal I would rather have an honesty employee over someone that is Just going to tell me what I want to hear. I like the fact that Bryant asked if you only have five minutes what question would you ask in an interview and that Paramour said she would ask how hold the person was when the got there first Job, cause to me it shows a level of determination and responsibility and a lot about a person and that they have goals set for their self and everything wasn’t handed to them. I do agree with the advice Paramour gives at the end of the article and that was to get a Job and get started, because I can say when I was 18-19 1 thought I know what I wanted to do in life but have problem changes my mind about 100 times before I really knew what it was that I wanted to do and what goals to have set for myself. Even to this day I have goals that I have not meet that I have set for myself but that isn’t mean I’m not still working towards them or that I don’t think I can do it also the harder you have to work for something the better work you will do and the more you appreciate things more in life and the better you will be at seeing your full potently and reaching your goal out of life. After reading this article/ interview I was able to take away that its k to change your mind and to make decision based on what’s going to make you happy and to make goals and to Just go for it because you never know what the outcome could be. Experience Ive been attending church for as long as I can remember. The earliest time I remember going to church was when I was in pre-school, and I attended the same church until high school. Sundays were routine, we attended church, went out to eat after with other members of the church, and then went home to watch either football or baseball (sports being my second religion). Skipping church was never an option, nor did I really want to miss it. I had good friends at church, and was genuinely interested in the bible and the stories we read. My parents have been avid Christians since a few years before I was born. Both had been Catholic as children, and both stopped going for different reasons. After my grandma died when my dad was 17, he started questioning how that could happen if there was a God. My mom always believed there was a God, but she didnt agree with how the Catholic church was run and was looking for a change. I found the stories to actually be entertaining, and I enjoyed reading them. My parents also enrolled me in a before school day care at a nearby church, where I read more bible stories, memorized scriptures, and met other Christian kids. My church life was at its peak, since I was enjoying church, my Sunday routine, and had friends at my church. We moved from Maine to New Hampshire, and still attended the same church. Then, my parents decided it was too far to drive to every weekend, and we found a new church that was closer. This church was smaller, less people, and not as much of a family as the old one was. There were only two kids my age, and I didnt really have a best friend like I did at my previous church. I began to dislike Sundays, asking to skip it more and more, and even the bible stories lost their magic. The few years I spent at that church seemed empty, almost like I was just going through the motions and not gaining any spiritual knowledge. This led to one of the biggest changes in my life so far. I moved to Florida before my junior year in high school. We tried a few churches out, and settled on one right down the road from our house. They had great music, a passionate youth pastor, and I made a few good friends immediately. It wasnt as great of a church as my first one had been, but it still re-ignited the passion I had for church before. I began attending youth group more frequently, went out with my friends from church, and began reading the bible with more regularity. Although I was finally happy with my church again, my lifestyle had changed. I went to parties during the weekends, had more homework during the week, and had soccer almost every day. This made it harder to find time for church related activities, and most of my best friends didnt attend my church or any church at all. I was closer to God then I had been, but still not at the religious point I had been at when I was younger. Even now, at college, I dont attend church on Sundays, and dont often read the bible. I believe in God, and try to live in a way which glorifies God, but I still dont totally devote myself fully to my faith. When I’m at home for vacations or breaks, it’s hard to find time to visit my church. I’m always out late, and with church being so early in the morning, its hard to motivate myself to attend church. During the school year, I don’t have any friends who go to church, and I don’t know where the nearest church is. I often spend the weekends relaxing from a tough week of schoolwork, so I’m out until four in the morning, and often in no condition to wake up early on a Sunday morning. I prefer to sleep in, watch football, and do homework. I believe Im entering the hardest years to be devoted to your religion, with so many distractions. If I can follow my religion and God through the rest of my college years, I think Ill be living for God for the rest of my life. I’m not sure if I’ll attend church weekly, or make my kids go to church, but I’ll always believe in God and try to live a good life.
